DAY 1
Arrival in Tours in the morning.
Check in to a two, three or four star hotel in the city centre of Tours.
In the morning:
Visit on your own of the MUSEE DU COMPAGNONNAGE, a municipal institution listed as a “Musée de France”. Now housed in the former Abbey of Saint-Julien de Tours, it exhibits a range of truly remarkable collections. 
Lunch on your own expenses.
 
In the afternoon:
Visit on your own of the CHATEAU of CHENONCEAU.
Built in the XVIth c., it is one of the purest Early French Renaissance style works. The square dwellings, built in the riverbed itself on the piles of a fortified mill, the square building is the original chateau. 
 
Then, continue with your car to Vouvray with your car, small village built at the foot of the cliff where cave dwellings are dug in the rock. 
Guided visit of the "CAVE DES PRODUCTEURS DE VINS DE VOUVRAY" and wine tasting. Located in the heart of the Vouvray vineyards, this wine cellar groups together 50 wine producers attached to their land, traditions and quality. The wines are strictly selected and bottled, are aging inside the cellars, galleries dug into the rock which are more than 2 kilometres long. Deep inside those cellars, you will be told the secrets of the making of the sparkling and still wines.

DAY 2
Breakfast.
Departure with your car to discover 2 major monuments of the Loire valley chateaux (visits on your own).
 
During the morning:
Visit the CHATEAU of AMBOISE, built in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries by Charles VIII, Louis XII and François 1er, the chateau is one of the first royal residences and a splendid example for gothic and renaissance architecture. Still nowadays it shelters an exceptionally well-preserved collection of furniture. Leonardo da Vinci lived there his last years of life.

During the afternoon:
Visit of the CLOS LUCE - PARC LEONARDO DA VINCI.
A marvel of the Renaissance art, in red bricks and tuff, pure happiness accentuated by the playful game of red brick with white stone, was the residence of Leonardo Da Vinci during the last years of his life.
Back to Tours in the late afternoon.

DAY 3
Breakfast.
In the morning:
Departure with your car to discover 2 other monuments of the Loire valley chateaux (visits on your own).
Visit of the château of AZAY-LE-RIDEAU.
Built from 1518 to 1527, is one of the earliest French Renaissance chateaux. Built on an island in the Indre River, its foundations rise straight out of the river. 
Lunch on your own expenses.
 
In the afternoon:
Visit of the famous GARDENS OF VILLANDRY which surround one of the last castle built on the Loire river edge during the Renaissance period (1536). The mere mention of the name Villandry evokes splendor and perfection in the art of gardens.This space, a contemporary creation, is unique in Europe. It is inspired by the gardens of the 16th and 18th centuries.8 gardeners work full time in the gardens of Villandry, and plant about 60,000 vegetables and 45,000 plants in its gardens each year.

DAY 4
Breakfast.
Morning on your own for shopping ( many shops, flowers market, flee market…), or guided tour of the city ( schedule available at the tourist office) visit of the museums of Tours ( a pass for the entrances of the different museums of Tours is available at the tourist office)
Lunch on your own expense in Tours.

Meeting point at the tourist office .
Departure with an air conditioned minibus with a driver for a second excursion of 2 prestigious Loire Valley chateaux.
Visit on your own of the CHATEAU of CHAMBORD. More than four centuries after its construction, Chambord still defies the imagination: 156 metres of stone fadçades, 56 meters high, and 440 rooms.
 
Then, the CHATEAU of CHEVERNY.
This château, which became the model for Marlinspike Hall in Hergé's Adventures of Tintin will surprise you with the richness and diversity of its furniture, and the authentic charm and refined decoration of its rooms.

The CHATEAU of USSE.The Sleeping Beauty's Chateau" located in the green Indre river valley. It inspired Perrault to write his famous stories and it remains a symbol of the medieval fairytale castle inhabited by brave lords, beautiful ladies and poets.

In the afternoon:
Visit of the CHATEAU of LANGEAIS.
Built in the early XVth c., this château provides a perfect example of a late mediaeval castle, complete with parapet walk and drawbridge. In 1491, it was the site of the marriage between Louis’son, Charles VIII, and the young Duchess Anne of Brittany – an event which paved the way for the independent Bretons eventual union with France.
